RedSquid TV, the operator-grade Agentic AI television platform, today announced a wide-ranging commercial partnership with Watch TV, Brazil’s leading entertainment platform for internet service providers (ISPs), to accelerate the deployment of next-generation television services across Brazil and subsequently across international markets.
The partnership will combine Watch TV relationships with more than 2,300 ISPs and approximately 12 million active subscribers with RedSquid TV’s operator-grade TV and STB operating system and Agentic AI platform. The companies will work together to enable ISPs to move beyond traditional Pay TV and streaming aggregation towards AI-powered television, with new capabilities spanning intelligent content discovery, personalised viewing, customer engagement, Edge AI advertising and operator-led commerce.
As part of the agreement, RedSquid will provide TV and STB middleware and operating-system software to Watch TV, while Watch TV will distribute its entertainment proposition through the RedSquid platform, including content from more than 30 leading studios. The companies will also jointly develop new operator propositions and explore international expansion across Latin America and Europe. The partnership gives Watch TV early access to RedSquid TV’s Agentic AI roadmap, enabling its ISP partners to introduce AI capabilities directly into the television experience rather than relying solely on conventional cloud-based recommendation and search technologies.
Maurício Almeida, Co-founder and Chairman of Watch TV, said: “Agentic AI is fundamentally transforming television. By combining Watch TV relationships with operators across Brazil with RedSquid TV’s operator-grade AI platform, we can help thousands of service providers deliver a new generation of intelligent television experiences while accelerating our international ambitions. Watch TV has always believed that television is one of the most powerful ways for broadband providers to differentiate their services, increase customer loyalty and create new revenue opportunities.”
Trevor Neal, CEO of RedSquid TV, said: “Brazil represents one of the world’s most exciting markets for the next generation of television. Watch TV has already built the distribution network that connects premium entertainment with thousands of regional broadband providers. Together, we can turn that network into a platform for AI-powered television – helping operators increase engagement, create new revenue streams and, most importantly, regain control of the customer relationship.”
Since its launch in 2017, Watch TV has become the country’s leading entertainment platform for ISPs, enabling operators to bundle premium television services with fibre broadband. Today the platform serves more than 2,300 ISP partners, reaches approximately 12 million active subscribers, offers over 30,000 hours of content, 80+ live television channels, and partnerships with more than 30 leading content studios, many of which Watch TV will bring to the partnership with RedSquid.
The partnership also creates a platform for future innovation in AI-driven advertising, personalised entertainment, intelligent content merchandising and operator services that leverage AI running directly on connected television devices. As operators increasingly seek new sources of growth beyond connectivity, the companies believe AI-powered television will become a strategic platform for customer engagement, commerce and digital services throughout the connected home.
Brazil represents one of the world’s most compelling television markets with a population of over 215 million and 75 million households; it is Latin America’s largest economy and one of the fastest markets transitioning from traditional Pay TV to streaming. While Pay TV subscriptions have fallen to approximately 6.5 million households, fibre broadband penetration now exceeds 79%, with more than 90% of broadband subscribers also consuming streaming television. Unlike many European markets dominated by a handful of national operators, Brazil’s broadband landscape is highly fragmented, with thousands of independent fibre providers serving communities across the country. Many of these operators lack the scale to develop their own television platforms, creating significant demand for turnkey entertainment solutions.
