The battle to control artificial intelligence in the home has reached the television. Today, Fetch.ai and RedSquid TV announced the world’s first operator-grade Agentic AI TV platform, combining Fetch.ai’s agentic AI technology with RedSquid TV’s end-to-end television operating system to transform the television from a passive entertainment device into an intelligent platform that can understand intent, make decisions and act on behalf of households. As part of the announcement, Humayun Sheikh, Founder and CEO of Fetch.ai and one of the earliest investors in DeepMind, has made a personal investment in RedSquid TV and joined the company’s Board, backing its vision for the future of television.
Unlike conventional smart TV platforms, RedSquid TV controls the complete software stack – from chipset integration through the operating system to the user experience on the screen. This unique architecture with embedded Edge-AI hooks enables Fetch.ai to tailor its Agentic AI platform specifically for RedSquid TV, allowing autonomous AI agents to become deeply integrated within the operating system itself. As edge AI capability advances, those agents will increasingly execute directly within the television, reducing latency, lowering cloud costs and enabling faster, more private and more responsive experiences.
The result is a fundamentally different kind of television. Rather than navigating apps and menus, viewers simply express an intent: “Plan a family movie night;” “Book the holiday featured in this documentary;” “Order everything I need to cook this recipe.”
Behind the scenes, intelligent AI agents discover content, compare services, coordinate smart home devices, manage subscriptions, complete purchases and orchestrate digital services on behalf of the household—all through natural conversation with the television.
The announcement comes as telco operators increasingly look to protect their customer relationships in an AI-driven world. While operators have invested billions building world-class broadband and mobile networks, much of the digital experience has migrated to smart TV and smartphone operating systems, cloud platforms and device manufacturers. Fetch.ai and RedSquid TV believe Agentic AI creates a once-in-a-generation opportunity for operators to reclaim the intelligence layer within the home.
Because RedSquid TV owns the underlying platform – not simply the user interface – operators retain control of the complete customer experience, first-party data, monetisation and AI integration, rather than surrendering those relationships to hyperscalers or television manufacturers. This gives operators the opportunity to deepen customer relationships, increase customer lifetime value and create entirely new revenue streams from AI-powered services.
Humayun Sheikh, Founder and CEO of Fetch.ai, said: “Artificial intelligence is evolving from answering questions to achieving outcomes. The next generation of AI won’t simply assist people – it will act on their behalf.”
“Television remains one of the last major consumer platforms yet to be reimagined for the Agentic AI era. RedSquid TV has built something exceptionally rare: complete control of the television software stack, from the chipset to the glass. That provides the foundation needed for Agentic AI to become part of the television itself rather than another cloud service layered on top. That’s why I’ve invested personally in the company.”
Trevor Neal, Founder and CEO of RedSquid TV, said: “Television is about to stop being something you watch and become something that works on your behalf. Our unique architecture allows us to integrate Fetch.ai’s technology directly into the operating system, creating a platform where Agentic AI becomes native to the television itself. For operators and Pay TV providers, this is strategically important. It enables them to retain ownership of the customer relationship, the data and the commercial ecosystem while delivering an entirely new generation of AI-powered services. We believe this represents the biggest shift in television since the transition from broadcast to streaming.”
The platform combines
- RedSquid OS — RedSquid TV’s edge-AI enabled operating system provides complete control of the television software stack from chipset to screen, enabling Agentic AI to run natively within the television rather than solely in the cloud.
- Fetch.ai’s ASI:One — a model that RedSquid uses to generate AI-driven answers.
- Agentverse — delivers a more personalised experience as your agent interacts with other agents. It enables specialised AI agents to discover, collaborate and execute complex tasks.
- Fetch Business — allowing verified retailers, brands and service providers to deliver trusted Agentic AI services directly through the television.
Together, the companies are creating a new generation of television platform where entertainment, commerce, communications and connected-home services are orchestrated through intelligent AI agents rather than individual applications.
The combined platform will be demonstrated publicly for the first time at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam from 11–14th September, where attendees will experience Agentic AI running natively within the RedSquid TV platform.
